TWO OF EXCLUSIVE HOTELS’ PASTRY CHEFS TO COMPETE ON THIS YEAR’S BAKE OFF: THE PROFESSIONALS

This Spring, fans of Bake Off: The Professionals will see Head Pastry Chefs Sarah Frankland and Leyre Pedrazuela Otero from Exclusive Hotels’ Pennyhill Park and South Lodge, join forces for the fourth season of the highly anticipated spin off-show.

Pastry professionals Sarah and Leyre, with over 28 years’ combined experience, will battle it out against 22 contestants from the UK’s best restaurants, hotels and businesses, taking on a series of baking challenges, from prepping and producing delicious desserts, intricately designed miniatures to show-stopping tarts and cakes, in the hope of being crowned champions of Bake Off:

The Professionals. The duo will first appear on screens on Tuesday 21st May where they hope to impress the judges, award-winning pastry chefs Cherish Finden and Benoit Blin.

Back in the kitchen at Pennyhill Park, Sarah leads a team of 10.  Formerly the Head Pastry Chef at Yauatcha, she first met Leyre when she interviewed her for a position there and upon leaving Yauatcha to join Pennyhill Park, Sarah offered Leyre a job there instead. Sarah has been involved in competitions before, coming second in the Chocolate Masters in 2017 and also winning the Movenpick Gourmet Dessert Chef of the year award in 2012. After working under Sarah at Pennyhill Park, Leyre left to become Head Pastry Chef at South Lodge, an Exclusive Hotel & Spa. Previously, she worked at high end Spanish patisseries Mama Frambois in Madrid and Escriba in Barcelona. Sarah and Leyre are great friends and believe they have complementing styles, as well as matching tattoos!

Danny Pecorelli, Managing Director at Exclusive Hotels and Venues, comments “we are extremely proud of both Sarah and Leyre for taking on such an almighty challenge.  Having been witness to both of their extraordinary talent for a number of years, I have every faith that they’ll do well in the competition and tackle each challenge head on, while having fun at the same time.  All of us at Exclusive can’t wait to watch!”

Bake Off: The Professionals is currently airing on Channel 4 on Tuesdays at 8pm.
