The Old Ship Hotel, Brighton, joins The Cairn Collection
Newcastle-based Cairn Group today announced it has launched The Cairn Collection; a hand-picked selection of historic hotels in iconic locations across the UK. The 10-strong collection of signature properties covers all four corners of mainland UK, from Stirling in the Scottish Highlands, to the UK capital, London, and includes The Old Ship Hotel, Brighton.
Hotels have been selected for inclusion within the collection based on a number of criteria, including the historic design and fabric of the buildings themselves; their locations in iconic British towns and cities as well as the service offered by each hotel’s team.
Paul Wright, General Manager, The Old Ship Hotel, Brighton, said: “We’re delighted to be part of The Cairn Collection. Our hotel is a perfect fit for the portfolio – with our blend of period features and modern comforts in a quintessentially British seafront location. The Old Ship Hotel also chimes with the brand’s strong focus on destination dining, customer service and local knowledge.”
The Old Ship Hotel is a 4-star hotel located on Brighton sea front and is the city’s most historic hotel, with parts dating back as far as 1559. It has 154 bedrooms, an on-site restaurant and can cater for weddings, meetings and events of up to 250 people. The hotel is within easy reach of several of Brighton’s attractions including the SEA LIFE Centre, the infamous ‘Laines’ Shopping, Brighton Pier and the Brighton i360.
The ten hotels in The Cairn Collection are: The Majestic Hotel, Harrogate; The Redworth Hall Hotel, County Durham; The Old Ship Hotel, Brighton; The Angel Hotel, Cardiff; Stirling Highland Hotel, Stirling; The Royal Station Hotel, Newcastle; Stoke Place Hotel, Buckinghamshire; Saint George’s Hotel, London; Cairn Hotel Newcastle and Cairn Hotel Edinburgh.
The Cairn Collection is part of the Cairn Hotel Group, a family-owned business headquartered in Newcastle, with 40-years’ experience in the industry.
