Fans of racing and the quintessentially English garden party are invited to the social pinnacle of the summer season, the glorious Qatar Goodwood Festival. Following the most significant single investment in UK horseracing history, the iconic festival will showcase the best of international horseracing in this five-day sports entertainment extravaganza.

Set to be an unforgettable summer experience, guests will be captivated as the biggest names, and best horses, in the sport compete for the some of the most prestigious prizes in the global horseracing calendar. A highlight race of the festival, the Group 1 Qatar Sussex Stakes, will be run for prize money of £1 million alone, making it one of the most significant mile races in the  world.

Taking place from Tuesday 28 July to Saturday 1 August, the Qatar Goodwood Festival will showcase this British sporting tradition at its finest, with an abundance of fine food, champagne and strawberries. With over 200 years of history and experience, it truly is the ultimate destination for racing and entertainment. Nestled amongst 12,000 acres of idyllic countryside, the most-beautiful racecourse in the world provides the perfect backdrop to this unique and classically British affair.

Relaxed sophistication

Famous for being a stylish and chic occasion, guests can embrace fashion in a relaxed atmosphere that compliments the excitement of top-class racing. From flowing summery frocks and vintage finery for the ladies, to panama hats and linen suits for the gentlemen, cool sophistication is definitely the theme.

Ladies take centre stage

Traditionally the most glamorous day of ‘Glorious Goodwood,’ Ladies’ Day features the Magnolia Cup – a celebrity ladies race run for the benefit of small charities. 2015 is an important year for the Magnolia Cup, as it is anticipated that £1 million will have been raised for the chosen charities in the five years since it began.

Riders sport bespoke silks created by renowned fashion designers – who have in the past included the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Frost French and Beulah. The 2014 title was won by supermodel and former Ladies’ Day ambassador Edie Campbell.

Entertaining edge

While leisurely sipping a Nyetimber Sparkling Cuvee, guests can embrace an array of musical tastes. A military band performs around the course throughout the week, jazz musicians add a beautiful ambiance to each afternoon and rock‘n’roll groups provide an energetic finale in the evenings. These wonderful musical ensembles create a fitting soundtrack to the glorious Qatar Goodwood Festival experience.
