Sponsored once again by Genting Casino, this afternoon race event on Friday 27th May throws down the gauntlet to the stylish gents of Brighton & Hove that could win them a Citizen Eco-Drive World Chrono Radio Controlled watch from James Ross Jewellers worth £449.

“With Brighton’s reputation for being the hippest city in the UK, we’re expecting our Gentlemen’s Day to lead the field in sartorial style this year,” said Brighton Racecourse marketing manager Grainne Bartholomew. “There’s no formal dress code but any gentleman with an eye for style will know what’s going to put them out in front.

“Our photographer will be snapping away throughout the day so any gentleman who welcomes the chance to attract attention should leave the trainers and hoodie at home and show us what they’ve got.”

As well as seven thrilling races to watch and bet on throughout the day, the team from Brighton’s Genting Casino will be there to pass on their hot tips on how to win at roulette and they’ll also be giving out ‘free play’ passes to use at the Preston Street casino.

A free shuttle bus from Brighton station means no-one needs to draw the short straw of being the designated driver, although there’s plenty of free parking too. As well as enjoying a flutter and a tipple, racegoers can enjoy fantastic food at Silks Restaurant which is offering a brand new menu this year.

Ticket prices for Gentlemen’s Day start at £11 for earlybird bookings right up to £135 each for the ultimate Deluxe Private Suite Package in the Premier Enclosure and many more options in between. Visit for full details of all 2016 fixtures, events and ticket prices.

Gates open at 12noon with the first race at 2.20pm and the last at 5.40pm.

The racing season at Brighton Racecourse runs throughout the summer to October, with the year’s main highlights of the three-day Festival of Racing on 3rd-5th August and the Family Fun Day on 21st August.
