A Taste of Penzance at The Gallivant: Bruce Rennie of The Shore

Since 2014 The Gallivant has introduced a series of gourmet evenings with world renowned British chefs including Tom Aikens, Richard Neat, Marcus Eaves, Andy McFadden and Henry and Matthew Harris, firmly establishing the Camber bolthole as a hub for the finest dining on the South Coast.

We are delighted to announce that Bruce Rennie of The Shore will be coming up to The Gallivant to take over their kitchen for one night only, on Tuesday October 11th.

Bruce Rennie has captained the kitchens for some of the top chefs in the country, including Michelin starred Restaurant Martin Wishart in Edinburgh, Michelin starred Shanks in Northern Ireland, Gary Rhodes and Rick Stein. He opened The Shore in the heart of Penzance in 2015 to critical acclaim, and since then has been shortlisted for Caterer’s Menu of The Year and appeared on BBC Countryfile .

Food writer Andy Lynes wrote after his meal at The Shore “is anyone cooking better seafood dishes than Bruce Rennie?” Bruce will be cooking alongside The Gallivant’s head chef Oliver Joyce, creating a delicious menu including courses of smoked haddock and pan roasted quail. In keeping with The Gallivant’s ethos, all fresh ingredients will be sourced from a 10-mile radius.

This gourmet event is £75pp and includes the five course dinner, canapés and paired wines. It starts at 6.30pm and bed and breakfast is available from £100 for those wishing to make a night of it.
