The Grand Hotel serves up a taste of Eastbourne with its Mirabelle Seaside Luncheon

Britain’s only five-star seaside hotel The Grand in Eastbourne will be celebrating the very best of the south coast’s seasonal seafood with its Mirabelle Seaside Luncheon on Wednesday 3 August.

Guests can treat themselves to The Grand’s delicious three-course menu with canapés and petits fours, incorporating local produce and pairing wines.

The lunch will commence with canapés and aperitifs at 12.30pm in the Mirabelle Lounge followed by lunch in The Grand’s luxurious fine-dining Mirabelle Restaurant at 1.00pm. The Mirabelle is one of Sussex’s top restaurants, with accolades including two AA rosettes.

The menu has been carefully created by the Mirabelle’s head chef, Gerald Röser. The first course will be a flavoursome seafood cocktail with fresh white crabmeat, prawns and crispy mussels, served alongside a refreshing glass of Sauvignon Blanc Baron Philippe de Rothschild produced in the middle of the Languedoc Roussillon.

The main course consists of Chef Röser’s play on fish and chips, with south coast lemon sole fillet goujons, accompanied by the perfect Pinot Grigio Rosado. The meal will be rounded off with freshly churned vanilla ice cream with whisky toffee sauce, toasted marshmallows and candy floss.

Mirabelle head chef Gerald Röser said: “Being on the south coast we’re lucky to have access to some of the most fantastic fresh seafood right on our doorstep. The Mirabelle Seaside Luncheon is a celebration of this, putting a little twist on some classic dishes that really allows the quality of the ingredients to shine through.”

The Grand’s Summer Seaside Luncheon is £40 per person including canapés, coffee and petits fours. Tables of 4,6 and 8 may be reserved, with guests of 2 being seated at club tables.
