The Coal Shed is a gourmet steak and seafood restaurant in the heart of Brighton. Named as one of the best restaurants in the UK by the prestigious Observer Food Monthly awards, it has also been recommended by The Telegraph and The Guardian, amongst others.
Our method is simple: the highest quality ingredients, expertly cooked. As well as a seasonal à la carte menu, we also offer daily specials and a great value express lunch menu. Specialities include a range of 35-day, dry aged Scottish steaks from the North Highlands in Scotland, as well as a wide selection of fish dishes including octopus, oysters, sea bass and lobster.
However, our menu is not prescriptive. Instead we offer a variety of cuts and weights of meat and fish alongside various side orders to cater for each individual, or to share as you please. Furthermore, the ‘Specials’ change daily and our menu adapts seasonally to ensure the best use of local, sustainable ingredients.
For those special occasions, we also offer a private dining room, seating up to 14.
