Hotel du Vin Brighton is situated in The Lanes conservation area, and a pebble’s throw from the seafront. Housed in a collection of eccentric gothic revival and mock Tudor buildings erected, appropriately, by a wine merchant on the site of an old inn. Among its many features are a heavily carved staircase and bizarre gargoyles, while the original double-height hall now houses the wine bar which serves exceptional cocktails and fabulous wines by the glass.
The delicious bar menu offers salads, a selection of sandwiches, classic fish n chips and more, all available daily for lunch and dinner.
But at the heart of the hotel is the bistro serving a menu inspired by French home-style cooking with robust earthy dishes, and slow-cooked foods, with an undeniably British flavour, relying heavily on fresh and seasonal produce. Offering moderately priced à la carte dining in a down-to-earth, warm and relaxing setting. From simple starters like French onion soup and Chicken Liver Parfait to mains of Normandy Chicken and 28-day dry-aged steaks, to desserts such as a Crème Brulee and Apple Tarte Tatin. And with our Prix Fixe (literally meaning ‘Fixed Price’) menu, it’s about tucking into even better value bistro classics inspired by French regional recipes changed by our Chef daily. All served by attentive and exceptionally knowledgeable waiting staff happy to explain the dishes, the ingredients, and how our talented have chefs put them together. And on hand is our Sommelier, ready to advise, guide, match or recommend the perfect wine from the eclectic wine selection that features many of the world’s best and often relatively unknown wine producers.
The large Dome room, or any of our four other private spaces are perfect for private celebrations and weddings, while for a less formal get together there is Pub du Vin. Local legendary ales from Anchor Steam, Hepworth Blonde, guest ales ranging from Brighton Bier, Dark Star, Fire Bird and Hurst Brewery and many more, all served in a traditional beer tankards and traditional pub food, the best traditions of a British pub.
