Menswear retailer Marc Darcy launches children’s formal wear following increasing customer demand
British heritage menswear brand Marc Darcy has launched a range of suits, blazers, waistcoats and accessories especially for children.
The Manchester-based business, established in 1989, decided to create the collection after being inundated with requests from customers to create a range for children that would be suitable for weddings and other formal events.
The suits are priced between £94.99 and £99.99 and are durable and comfortable to wear, so children can play and party right through. Sizes are available for children aged 1 to 14 years old.
Karen Johal, e-commerce and creative director at Marc Darcy, said: “Customers have been constantly asking us to create a children’s range – and, we listened. We wanted to create a range that was literally a miniature version of our men’s collection, all the way down to the finer details.”
The Marc Darcy brand epitomises the quintessential English gentleman, taking vintage styles and giving them a modern twist, from bold luxurious linings to contrasting collars and buttonholes. Their suits have been seen on the likes of Coronation Street’s Shayne Ward, Emmerdale newcomer Ned Porteous, TOWIE stars Tommy Mallet and James Locke, Celtic FC’s Kieran Tierney, and the Queen Vic’s current landlord Mick Carter, played by Danny Dyer.
Karen said: “We launched the kid’s range with five three-piece suits, which have gone down really well with customers and industry peers alike. Emmerdale actor Danny Miller was at our HQ recently and absolutely loved them, picking out a number of styles for his young nephew.
“We are extremely proud of the collection and the feedback we have received has been overwhelming. We are already looking towards the future and are in the midst of creating next season’s range.”
Last year, the brand won Draper’s Menswear Brand of the Year, beating off competition from the likes of huge brands Ted Baker, Gym King, Bugatti, Farah and Remus Uomo.
