Legendary music group Sister Sledge performed at Brighton Pride
Brighton danced and rejoiced as legendary music group Sister Sledge headlined at the city’s Pride event.
2016 witnessed Brighton Pride produce the biggest UK festival stage line-up to date, with Sister Sledge joining international artists like Carly Rae Jepsen, DJ Fresh, Fluer East, Alesha Dixon and The 2Bears.
From over 1 bn downloads of We Are Family, a string of Gold and Platinum records, Grammy nominations and topping the Billboard charts, to performing alongside a galaxy of stars including Aretha Franklin, Diana Ross, Public Enemy and Andrea Bocelli, Sister Sledge have continued to rule the global airwaves with their timeless dance floor anthems.
Sister Sledge joined Brighton Pride’s star-studded Main Stage line-up, performing with a full live band to present an uplifting set that included monster hits like “We Are Family”,“Lost In Music”, and “Thinking Of You”. Members of the audience were chosen to join the sisters onstage for a raucous rendition of “He’s The Greatest Dancer”, proving that nobody brings an audience together better than Sister Sledge!
The group are set to soon release their new track ‘Women are the Music of the World’, which is part of their latest campaign Nothing Is Greater Than Love (NGTL), launched to send a message of love, empowerment and unity to their fans. The NGTL brand will present an array of new and exciting projects from Sister Sledge, including soon to be released NGTL merchandise and the continued support for NGO’s and charities such as Action Aid and UN Women.
Sister Sledge recently participated in the Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards to present an honorary award to producers Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards.
