Goodwood Food Festival 2015
On Saturday 2nd May 2015 Goodwood Racecourse will celebrate all things food and farming at its inaugural Food Festival. Taste the flavours of Goodwood and Sussex with local traders offering a mix of fabulous produce and dishes on the day.
The food will not be the only thing to make mouths water – there’s a full card of top-class racing also taking place, as Goodwood marks the beginning of the 2015 season. The Goodwood Food Festival is the perfect opportunity to indulge the senses as well as being a great day out for all the family.
Goodwood Estate, home to the largest lowland organic farm in the UK, will showcase its finest produce in the Home Farm Marquee. The Estate prides itself on producing a range of high-quality organic and natural foods. Racegoers will be able to delight in a menu of home-grown cuisine available for purchase in the Marquee, including a range of delicious Home Farm Milkshakes, succulent Goodwood Farm Lamb Koftas and Baked Goodwood Molecombe Blue Cheese served with local-baked tasca bread soldiers.
The course will also host a number of bespoke stalls in the Final Furlong Food Market, accessible from all enclosures, where a selection of local artesian suppliers will create a fusion of tastes and dishes for the day. The Final Furlong Food Market is located trackside, right in the heart of the action, and will welcome local traders including Highdown Vineyard, Pinks Ice-cream, Mud Foods, Sussex Pigs Co, Farmers Choice Freerange Ltd, Burley Fudge and many more. It is the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to some of the best locally produced foods, while taking in one of the finest views on the course.
The Goodwood Food Festival is a day to please foodies and racegoers alike and the official charity of the day will be the Organic Research Facility at Elm Farm. For more information and to book tickets online please visit www.goodwood.com, or call 01243 755055.
